How did you discover VoluntEars?
Been with VoluntEars on previous Trip – Nepal 2024/25.
Why did you join VoluntEars?
Want to experience and know more about the difference between two countries – Nepal and Peru. They both are beautiful countries equally in different cultures and historical.
Why did you choose the Peru trip?
Something different and also hope for a long mountain trek like in Nepal. And also knowing about Machu Picchu one of the seven wonders of the world which was one of my bucket list!
What were you looking forward to?
Working within the school – doing the teachings. Going with the group of people with similar interests.
Were you worried about anything before the trip?
A little about the altitude so I arrived a few days early to adjust.
What words would you use to describe your experience in Peru?
Awesome and exciting. Unexpected expect may happened!!
What was your funniest or most memorable experience?
And the final thing that some of us saw the sun setting and the moon rising at the same time. Awesome memory!
What did you enjoy the most on the trip?
Sharing with other people of same interests. A long trek was the enjoyable that I have taken few days before to accumulate the altitude. A lots of places that we went – Machu Picchu, Lake Titcaca, Puno and Cuczo too. I enjoyed moving on to different hotels during the trip to explore different areas of Peru. Meeting local people were also awesome (we had a best local person to help us about local community – Paola!).
How do you think you benefitted from the experience?
Interest my confidence and knowledge about the countries that I went with you. Encouraged other people to join the trips to explore their own inner issues. Some of people who may have some trauma experiences before their trip so this trip may help them to realise more about their potential experiences rather than their deafness issues. Deaf? You can do it!!
What did you like about the VoluntEars trip?
Sharing with other people of same interests. Hearing and deaf people to communicate fluently with ease. Helping others who are need more support than others.
Would you join another VoluntEars trip?
Yes [since booked Everest Base Camp trek trip].
