Itinerary
Day 1 - Sunday
Arrive in Peru!
We will meet you at the airport in Cusco and drive you to our accommodation, about 30 minutes away. You can unpack, meet the other volunteers and relax.
The afternoon is free for light exploration, or simply enjoying the views over the city as everyone adjusts to the new surroundings.
We will do the orientation this evening so you know what to expect over the next 2 weeks.

Day 2 - Monday
After breakfast we head out on a guided city tour of Cusco, starting near the vibrant San Pedro Market. Learn about the city’s Incan roots, Spanish colonial history, and modern-day culture while visiting key viewpoints and landmarks around Cusco.
This afternoon we’ll do a Peruvian Sign Language class at school!

Day 3 - Tuesday
We depart early for a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. Our journey includes visits to Chinchero, the fascinating circular terraces of Moray, and the striking salt pans of Maras.
Buffet lunch in Urubamba, then we continue to Ollantaytambo’s Temple of the Sun before finishing the day in Pisaq.
We return to Cusco in the early evening, having experienced some of the most iconic landscapes in Peru.

Day 4 - Wednesday
This morning we’ll explore the artistic San Blas district of Cusco, known for its narrow streets, galleries, and artisan workshops. We’ll also do a coffee workshop to learn all about one of Peru’s most famous exports.
This afternoon we’ll discover what’s for sale at San Pedro market – everything from Peruvian chocolate, fresh ceviche, colourful fabrics and foods!
Day 5 - Thursday
Volunteering at the Deaf school in the morning – be ready to do lots of fun activities the local Peruvian students. You can work with other volunteers in small groups and choose what age students you work with.
This afternoon you’ll have free time to explore Cusco before we take an overnight coach from Cusco to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Day 6 - Friday
We’ll arrive in Puno early morning and watch sunrise over Lake Titicaca from Cristo Blanco, then go for a long relaxed breakfast near our hotel.
Then you have the afternoon to explore the city (or relax!) – we’ll give you some advice and can accompany you if you want company. We’ll meet for dinner to compare stories from the afternoon!
Day 7 - Saturday
An early start takes us onto Lake Titicaca for a full-day boat trip on the world’s highest lake. We visit the famous floating islands, learning how the Uros people construct their homes from reeds and sustain life on the lake.
Not many people get the chance of visiting such a beautiful place.

Day 8 - Sunday
After breakfast we’ll take a coach from Puno back to Cusco – this time during the daytime so you can sit back and watch the changing landscapes of the high Altiplano – high altitude savannas with huge horizons and big skies! Dinner back in Cusco after we arrive back.

Day 9 - Monday
This morning we’ll volunteer at the local deaf school and do activities with their students. Plan your activities in advance and work with each other to make it fun and interactive.
This afternoon you have free time. Relax at a cafe overlooking Cusco’s central square, explore the narrow cobbles backstreets, negotiate over souvenirs…up to you!

Day 10 - Tuesday
This morning we’ll volunteer at the local deaf school and this afternoon we’ll visit Cusco’s Sun Temple before dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 11 - Wednesday
This morning will be your last time volunteering at the local deaf school. The students will love having you there and will be sad to see you leave but long-lasting memories will have been made.
After lunch near the main square, you decide how to spend the afternoon. By now you’ll know Cusco quite well and will definitely have places you want to revisit or explore for the next few hours before meeting for dinner.

Day 12 - Thursday
Another highlight of the trip! Today we depart early for Ollantaytambo, then board the scenic train through the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes. This is the closest town to the famous Machu Picchu site and can only be reached by train. Why not relax in the natural hot springs near our hotel before dinner.
Day 13 - Friday
We’ll take the Machu Picchu bus up into the mountains (45 mins approx) and enjoy a guided visit of this world-famous UNESCO site, learning about its history, architecture, and spiritual significance. Take it all in, it’s a magical sight.
After lunch in Aguas Calientes, we’ll take the train back to Ollayantaytambo and travel back to Cusco for a final dinner all together.

Day 14 - Saturday
Time for a final Peruvian breakfast at the hotel before packing (last minute souvenir shopping?!) and we’ll take you to Cusco airport for your flight back home.
