Why did you choose the India trip?
Being Indian myself I wanted to explore India independently as with families they are overprotective.
What were you looking forward to?
Volunteering in deaf school.
What words would you use to describe your experience in India?
Beyond amazing.
What did you enjoy the most on the trip?
Riding in tuk tuk, the Indian culture, food, the people always smiling. Visiting deaf children school, deaf women group, theatre, dhobi, visiting the hills [the Western Ghat mountains], lagoon also other members in the group.
How do you think you benefitted from the experience?
I have lovely memories. I keeps remembering things bit by bit plus having BSL interpreter and KC from locally helped. There were no barriers.
What did you like about the VoluntEars trip?
It was fully tailored, everything was well organised that we didn’t have to worry about anything.
