How did you discover VoluntEars?

Through friends.

Why did you join VoluntEars?

To make new friends & explore the country and culture.

Why did you choose the Ghana trip?

Having been to Kenya, I wanted go back to Africa and Ghana came along it was perfect. Ghana has that friendly vibe I knew I would enjoy it.

What words would you use to describe your experience in Ghana?

Beautiful, blissful, joyful.

What was your funniest or most memorable experience?

Probably the last night, it was sooo funny chaotic but had to laugh it all off…was pure funny.

What did you enjoy the most on the trip?

I really enjoyed teaching the kids BSL and they taught me Ghana Sign Language its something I will never forget.

How do you think you benefitted from the experience?

I learnt a lot, I learnt how Ghana do things like cooking and cleaning clothes differently, I really enjoyed the cultural experience of it all, its fabulous!

What did you like about the VoluntEars trip?

Everything! I love the deaf schools, connection with another Deaf culture it excited me! I love making new Deaf friends. This also put my multiude of sign languages to the test firing away my hands could do with a massage now only kidding!

How could we make the trip better in the future?

I love to spend lunches with the Deaf kids than head back to host home for lunches but I have nothing else to add.

What countries would you like to visit in the future?

Oh gosh can I not list ‘everywhere’ for this question🤣 In all seriousness, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mount Everest Base Camp, Costa Rica/Peru, perhaps Mt Kilimanjaro…. all on my list 😁
