Why did you join VoluntEars?
Wanted to help make a difference with deaf children abroad.
Why did you choose the Ghana trip?
Gorgeous beach, nice warm weather, and never been to Africa before so wanted to experience this country with a supportive group.
What were you looking forward to?
Meeting other people, helping other deaf children and seeing how others live.
Were you worried about anything before the trip?
No, not really.
What words would you use to describe your experience in Ghana?
Beautiful, eye- opening and special!
What was your funniest or most memorable experience?
The canopy walk! And everything else!!
What did you enjoy the most on the trip?
Exploring Ghana and immersing ourselves in the culture, with trying different foods, getting tuk-tuks and seeing other deaf Ghanian people! Enoch was amazing too! [Enoch works for VoluntEars in Ghana].
How do you think you benefitted from the experience?
Met lovely people, which boosted my confidence! Learnt more about a different country which is always important!
What did you like about the VoluntEars trip?
The support network from Richard and David [interpreter], and Enoch! Also going to different places such as the fishing harbour, Cape Coast castle, the canopy walk!
