Sri Lanka - 2 Week Group Trip – December 2016 & Teaching Add-on – January 2017 Book NowAsk a QuestionWhat words would you use to describe your experience in Sri Lanka?
“Inspiring, amazing, exciting, fun.”
How do you think you benefitted from the experience?
“I found the whole trip really rewarding. I made new friends and was able to use my sign language skills which will benefit me at work.”
What did you learn?
“I was able to learn about the local culture and customs by joining in with the locals and learning about their lives. I learnt some new sign language and Sinhalese words. I was able to appreciate the life I have at home from living with a Sri Lankan family and seeing how their life is different to mine in England.”
What did you like about the VoluntEars trip?
“It was very well organised and the time was well spent between renovation and sightseeing. The visits had been really well planned and I really enjoyed the places we visited, there was good variety between them. It was a smaller group so I felt like I got to know everyone really well. Richard was really informative about the places we visited and really helpful with any queries we had.”
How can VoluntEars improve?
“They can’t.”
What was your funniest or most memorable experience ?
“Working with the turtles at the conservation, playing games with the school children, visiting the elephant orphanage. Just having so much fun and having a laugh everyday with the fab people in the group!!”
