How do you think you benefitted from the experience?
I grew in confidence and I felt like I came home having learnt about a new culture.
What did you learn?
I learnt a new culture and Sri Lankan sign Language. I also learnt a little DIY!
What did you like about the VoluntEars programme?
It’s inclusive, laid back. There was time to get to know the group and we had a lot of great activities together.
What did VoluntEars do well?
Richard’s [VoluntEars Director] organisation was fantastic. There was room for flexibility and we could add additional activities. There was also time to relax!
How can VoluntEars improve?
Can’t think of anything 🙂
What was your funniest or most memorable experience?
Christmas Day spent on the beach, the spice garden and deaf Pizza Hut.
