How do you think you benefitted from the experience?
The trip took me well and truly out of my comfort zone. I came home with a totally different outlook on life.
What did you learn?
How rewarding volunteering is. How inspiring the younger adults on the trip were.
The trip inspired me to continue with my BSL journey, after passing level 2 in 2001 I have now joined a level 3 course.
What did you like about the VoluntEars trip?
Staying with the family and experiencing the real Sri Lanka. The trip was a perfect balance of volunteering and sightseeing.
What did VoluntEars do well?
Organised the two weeks so well giving us the most amazing experiences.
What was your funniest or most memorable experience?
The children’s reaction to the parachute game.
