How do you think you benefited from the experience?

“I feel it was an experience of a lifetime. I had the opportunity to visit many places and observe the Sri Lankan culture, food and living. Volunteering and meeting the school children was an overwhelming experience and renovating the dining room as a group was good fun!”

What did you learn?

“I learned a lot in terms of culture, religion, the main attractions and the lifestyle of Sri Lankans. It was very different in comparison to the UK.”

What did you like about the VoluntEars programme?

“It was a good mixture of volunteering and sightseeing. The Turtle Project and visiting the Elephant orphanage was a great experience.”

What did VoluntEars do well?

“VoluntEars made sure the work in the school, which was the aim, was carried out in time and well.”
