“The most memorable was the fun that was had during the elephant game with the Deaf children and volunteers.”

What did you like about the VoluntEars programme?

“Well organised, great ethos, varied programme, felt safe and supported.”

What did you learn?

“ASL, NSL and how to interpret between 3 sign languages and a spoken language.”

How do you think you benefitted from the experience?

“Sense of reward to the school, volunteers and myself. Collectively we made a difference and the Deaf children benefitted from the experience of sharing cultures and a newly renovated dining room.”

Was there a good mix of D/deaf & hearing volunteers on your trip? How did you find communication?

“Yes, communication was good 🙂 ”
