Coronavirus update – April 2020
During these difficult times, we want to reassure all our customers that your safety and well-being is our number one priority.
We are certainly navigating through uncharted waters and these are challenging times for everyone, so we thank each of you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together.
We also thank you for the many messages of support and encouragement that we’ve received over the last few weeks. We understand you are keen to go ahead with trips and to support our partner Deaf schools abroad so this page gives information about our plans for the next few months.
We are constantly monitoring the latest information for all our destinations and are in communication with our colleagues abroad, whilst also following advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO).
At the moment we are still hoping to run our summer trips at end-July and early-August if it’s safe to do so. It’s still too early to know exactly what the situation will be at that time.
Specifically, our decision will be based on:
- Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel and health advice
- Local guidance and restrictions in each destination
- Our own risk assessments
Due to the constantly changing situation, we expect to be able to make a decision around 2-3 weeks before each trip, so:
- around the end of June for the Sri Lanka trip in July
- around mid-July for the Nepal trip in August
- around end-September for the Ghana trip in October
If, by the dates above, the FCO advises against travel to your chosen country, or if there’s a travel ban in place in your destination, we will contact you to explain your options.
If you want to ask us questions please email us: [email protected]
We really appreciate your understanding and patience as we move through the next few months.
With thanks,
The Team at VoluntEars
